Dubai Holding’s long-standing relationship with Brookfield began in 2019, when Meraas and Brookfield Asset Management entered a long-term strategic partnership to jointly own and operate a portfolio of flagship retail destinations, including City Walk and The Beach.
The transaction between Meraas and Brookfield Asset Management represented a significant investment in the region for Brookfield as it facilitated its entry into the retail sector.
The AED 5 billion joint venture leveraged Meraas’s regional brand recognition and experience in curating lifestyle-focused mixed-used developments and Brookfield’s global retail experience and investment capabilities to operate a dedicated platform to explore growth opportunities in the retail sector across the GCC region.
Building on this successful foundation, Dubai Holding Investments and Brookfield Properties expanded the partnership with the launch of Solaya, a collection of exclusive beachfront residences in the heart of Dubai. The project reinforced both organisations’ shared vision to deliver world-class destinations that enhance Dubai’s global standing and contribute to the city’s long-term development and appeal.
