With a career spanning more than two decades, Al Malek is a key contributor to Dubai’s economic growth, urban transformation, and innovation agenda, bringing strategic cross-sector leadership focused on long-term value creation, sustainable progress, and the development of integrated ecosystems that enhance the Emirate’s global competitiveness.

He also serves as Director General of the Dubai Development Authority, where he leads regulatory, planning, and development functions that shape Dubai’s economic competitiveness, urban development, and business-friendly regulatory environment that reinforces the City’s position as a global hub for business, talent, and innovation.

Al Malek is currently a member of several prominent boards, where he contributes to strategic oversight and governance across key public and private sector institutions. He is the Chairman of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) (du), TECOM Group PJSC, the Investment Committee of DHAM REIT Management LLC, and the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI). He also holds the role of Vice Chairman at HCT Investment Management Company (Capital H).

Additionally, he serves in several key advisory and governance roles, including as Member of the Board of Trustees of Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), Member of the Supreme Committee of Dubai Urban Plan 2040, Member of the Board of the Emirates Foundation, and Member of the Higher Committee for Dubai Future Technology and Digital Economy.

He is also a Member of the Board of Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) and is a Council Member of the Dubai Free Zones Council (DFZC) and the Dubai Media Council (DMC).
