Our Senior Executive Board is made up from the Executive Chairmen of Dubai Holding's seven member companies and Dubai Holding's Chairman and Executive Chairman - Operations.
HE Mohammad AlGergawiChairman, Dubai Holding
His Excellency Mohammad AlGergawi is the Chairman of Dubai Holding, a Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of The Executive Office of the Government of Dubai. He leads the development of the UAE Federal Government Strategy and oversees its overall delivery and performance.
AlGergawi formally held the post of Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, which led the strategic planning and implementation of Dubai’s economic and social development. Al Gergawi is also the Founding Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders and Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, which aims to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based society in the Arab region by focusing on education, research and culture, and by empowering youth to find innovative solutions to regional challenges.
HE Mohammad AlGergawi has received numerous awards such as the Moroccan Royal Order of Merit by His Majesty King Mohammad VI of Morocco and the American Business Award.
Fadel Al AliExecutive Chairman - Operations
Dubai Holding
Fadel Al Ali has been Executive Chairman for Operations since 2007. He was formerly its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and System Engineering, and holds a Certificate of Finance from the American University of Sharjah. As well as being on the Board of Dubai Holding and that of several of its entities, including Jumeirah Group, Sama Dubai, Dubai International Capital, Dubai Group and Dubai First, Al Ali is also on the Board of Directors at Dubai Bourse, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, Bank Islam in Malaysia and National Bonds. In addition, he is the chairmen of the board of Dubai Bank. Al Ali is responsible for providing strategic operational leadership for the Group as well as ensuring the implementation of global best practices throughout its key portfolio drivers.
Gerald LawlessExecutive Chairman
Jumeirah Group
Gerald Lawless has been Executive Chairman of Jumeirah Group since January 2007 and was previously its Managing Director. Lawless is an Honour’s Graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland and was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management by the Johnson & Wales University, State of Rhode Island in the U.S.A. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), TATWEER, the Dubai Holding Executive Committee and of Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP. Lawless also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of The Emirates Academy and is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and a Fellow member of the Institute of Hospitality (formerly HCIMA).
Ahmad Bin ByatExecutive Chairman
TECOM Investments
Ahmad Bin Byat is the Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, Executive Chairman of TECOM Investments, and Chairman of Dubai Real Estate Corporation. A graduate in IT and Management graduate from the US, Bin Byat occupies several other high-ranking directorial positions including those of Director General of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority and Chairman of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company. Bin Byat has been instrumental in leading TECOM Investments’ strategic investments in regional and international telecom companies including GO, Tunisie Telecom, Interoute, and Axiom Telecom.
Soud Ba'alawyExecutive Chairman

Soud Ba'alawy is the Executive Chairman of Dubai Group, the leading diversified financial services company of Dubai Holding. Ba’alawy was previously CEO of Dubai Investment Group, Chief Investment Officer of Dubai Internet City, and Vice President of The Executive Office. Ba'alawy is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the UK and has more than ten years’ experience in investment banking with Citigroup. He holds several board positions at leading companies across the MENA region and is the Chairman of Marfin Popular Bank, TAIB Bank, and NASDAQ Dubai.
Hashim Al DabalExecutive Chairman
Dubai Properties Group
Hashim Al Dabal has been Executive Chairman of Dubai Properties Group, a member of Dubai Holding, since 2007. He was formerly the CEO of Dubai Properties where he was responsible for its strategic direction and overall vision. Under his leadership, Dubai Properties Group was established in March 2008 by consolidating its operations into six distinct business units: Dubai Properties, Salwan, Injaz, Dubai Asset Management, Dubai Retail and Dubai Hospitality, which operate as independent profit centres. Prior to joining Dubai Properties Group, Al Dabal served as the Executive Director of Dubai Islamic Bank and Resident Vice President of Citibank.
Saeed Al MuntafiqExecutive Chairman
Tatweer
Saeed Al Muntafiq is Executive Chairman of Tatweer. He was formerly Director General of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, Chairman of the Board of Dubai Media City and a founding member of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone. Al Muntafiq graduated from Schiller International University in the UK with a BA in International Relations and completed the Management Development Program at Harvard Business School. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Group and of Jumeirah Group and was the Chairman of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.
Farhan FaraidooniExecutive Chairman
Sama Dubai
Farhan Faraidooni is the Executive Chairman of Sama Dubai, the international real estate investment and development arm of Dubai Holding. He was previously CEO of Sama Dubai and before then, CEO of Executive Design Bureau in The Executive Office, where he played a pioneering role in envisioning several landmark projects, including the Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubailand. Faraidooni holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the UAE University in Al Ain and is also the Chairman of the Board at the Dubai Real Estate Institute, Dubai Healthcare City, the Ministry of Religious Endowment “Awqaf” and Minors Affairs.
Sameer Al AnsariExecutive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Dubai International Capital
Sameer Al Ansari is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive of Dubai International Capital, the international investment arm of the conglomerate Dubai Holding, which he helped found in 2004. He was previously Group Chief Financial Officer for The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Al Ansari is a chartered accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and holds an Honours degree in Accounting & Financial Management and a Diploma in Industrial Studies from Loughborough University, England. He is also a board member of various companies including Dubai Holding, Sama Dubai, the Dubai International Financial Centre, Doncasters, Travelodge, Mauser, Ishraq, as well as Chairman of Ishraq and Jordan Dubai Capital.
